RCCF BACKGROUND

Rwanda Coffee Cooperatives Federation (RCCF) was founded on 2rd April 2009 under legal registration number of RCA/1544/2009 issued on December 17th, 2009 by Rwanda Cooperatives Agency (RCA).

It is made up of 14 cooperative Unions at District level and 97 Primary Cooperatives. Currently, it counts 19,704 members among whom 6,581 (33.40%) are females and 13,123 (66.60%) are males.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF RCCF AS A FEDERATION

RCCF as a federation, in its respective capacity has the following responsibilities:

  • To develop capacities of its members;
  • To help its members develop their business and encourage them to engage in joint investment;
  • To advocate for its members and to represent them in various development entities;
  • To provide its members with any information that helps them to properly carry out their activities;
  • To help its member cooperatives obtain a guarantee in case of loan application; and to instil a savings culture in its members;
  • To assist its members during the preparation and signing of contracts and memoranda of understanding between cooperatives and stakeholders and during their management;
  • To help its member cooperatives amicably settle disputes and other issues before referring them to the National Agency;
  • To carry out such other activity likely to help it promote cooperatives.
